Greater Cleveland Volunteers recruits volunteers age 18 and older to serve at over 150 local nonprofit organizations. We assist you in finding the right opportunity to serve based on your interests, skills, and availability. We provide you with ongoing support to ensure that you have a rewarding experience and to recognize your service to the community.

congratulations to our new 2012 board of directors
Greater Cleveland Volunteers elected its Board of Directors officers for 2012 at its annual meeting in December. Serving as officers this year will be Michael Smith, President; Tom Barnard, Executive Vice President.
The Board will welcome three new members this year: Calvin Leonard, Experience Corps tutor and Chair of the former Greater Cleveland Volunteers Advisory Council; Jeanette Savage, Manager of Volunteer Services at Cleveland Botanical Garden, former Advisory Council member and Greater Cleveland Volunteers strategic planning consultant; and Ann Zellmer, Senior Counsel – Law Department, Cleveland Clinic. We're expanding!
In an effort to serve more nonprofits in our community, we are seeking new partnerships with nonprofit organizations in the western suburbs of Cuyahoga County.
We are especially interested in working with organizations that need volunteers to help in the areas of:
- Education
- Economic Opportunity
- Environmental Stewardship
- Health & Wellness Promotion
- Addressing Hunger Issues for Low Income Families

Greater Cleveland Volunteers offers many ways to serve our community.
- Help with one-time events or short-term projects through our Team program
- Serve as a mentor in our "My Mentor, My Friend" program in the Cleveland Schools.
- Adults age 55 and older can be part of our RSVP program to share their life skills and experiences to help with needs in our community, through an assignment at one of over 150 nonprofits.
- Older adults interested in helping Cleveland school children improve their reading skills can be part of our Experience Corps tutoring program.
