Advocacy
» November 2011We are closely following Congressional developments on managing the Federal deficit and crafting a budget for the 2012 fiscal year.
Virtually all government agencies are vulnerable to budget cuts at this point.
Our agency receives a significant grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service (www.nationalservice.gov). This funding makes it possible for us to support over 2,500 volunteers in Cuyahoga County.
We are working to ensure that CNCS funding is retained for our program and for other volunteerism initiatives around the country.
To see how you can help, please visit www.saveservice.org or contact Alan at Greater Cleveland Volunteers, at (216) 391-9500 x113.
Please note: Federal regulations require that if you are volunteering with a program that is supported by CNCS, you cannot do any advocacy work while you are volunteering. It must be done on your own time.
