Advocacy - New information.
» April 2012
Both the President and the House Committee on the Budget recently released their proposed budgets for Fiscal Year 2013. Not surprisingly, the two versions have very different approaches to Federal funding for volunteerism.
The President is asking for an increase in funding for the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS), one of our agency’s primary funders.
The Budget Committee has asked to eliminate CNCS from the Federal budget.
Of course, we are eager to see Federal support for volunteer programs continue. We encourage you to contact local members of Congress to express your support as well.
You can follow the legislative process through these Websites:

www.voicesforservice.org (supporting continued funding for CNCS)
We are eager to hear from you.

Thank you for your help.
Please note: Federal regulations require that if you are volunteering with a program that is supported by CNCS, you cannot do any advocacy work while you are volunteering. It needs to be done on your own time.
